Overview: 3 books and 33 photographs by Paul Katz, an artist and photographer for the Guggenheim Museum in New York, were on view in this library installation. The images of Katz's friends in the New York art world from the 1960s to the 1980s were selected from the Paul Katz Archive, a gift of more than 1,500 images given by the artist to the department of library image collections in 2008.

Organization: The installation was organized by the National Gallery of Art. Gregory Most, chief of library image collections, and Meg Melvin, image specialist for modern and contemporary art, were curators.
