Amy R. Johnston, assistant curator of modern prints and drawings at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, is co-curator of Stanley William Hayter: From Surrealism to Abstraction. Johnston was appointed to her present position at the National Gallery of Art in 2009—where she has worked since 2003. Johnston received a B.A. at the University of Wisconsin (1998) and an M.A. at the University of Virginia (2002).

Prior to coming to the Gallery, Johnston worked at the University of Virginia between 2001 and 2002 and interned at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1998 and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1999.
