Ruth Fine

Ruth Fine was curator of special projects in modern art at the National Gallery of Art from 2002 to 2012, and from 1980 through 2002 served as the Gallery’s curator of modern prints and drawings.  During her long career at the Gallery Fine organized many important exhibitions of work by American artists, including Romare Bearden, Helen Frankenthaler, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, John Marin, and Georgia O'Keeffe. Fine’s latest exhibition project, in coordination with the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, is Procession: The Art of Norman Lewis (2015–2017).
