Overview: This was a special one-picture installation of the altarpiece created by Caravaggio for the Church of Santa Maria in Vallicella in Rome. The painting had been part of the recent touring exhibition of the Vatican collections.

Organization: The exhibition was coordinated by Sydney J. Freedberg.
