Brooks Rich, associate curator of old master and nineteenth-century prints, National Gallery of Art

Brooks Rich has been associate curator of old master and nineteenth-century prints at the National Gallery of Art since 2019.

Prior to joining the National Gallery, Rich held curatorial fellowships at the Rijksmuseum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where he organized the exhibition Rockwell Kent–Voyager: An Artist's Journey in Prints, Drawings, and Illustrated Books (2012). He has also worked at the Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, MA, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

At the National Gallery, Rich is responsible for cataloging, researching, caring for, and organizing exhibitions about the museum's collection of prints and illustrated books dated before 1900. He curated the 2022 exhibition The Renaissance in the North: New Prints and Perspectives. He is also cocurator of the 2025 exhibition Little Beasts: Art, Wonder, and the Natural World, presented with special cooperation from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Rich holds a PhD in the history of art from the University of Pennsylvania, with a specialization in 16th-century Netherlandish engraving. He also has an MA from Williams College and a BA from Bowdoin College.
