Membership Benefits: The Tower Project

The Tower Project provides support for modern and contemporary exhibitions in the Tower 3 Gallery in the East Building. Celebrating new directions and approaches in art, The Tower Project supports contemporary artists and presents an extraordinary range of creativity.

With an annual gift of $2,500, members enjoy the following benefits of membership in The Tower Project:

  • Unique events and programs providing access to and interaction with the curatorial team from the department of modern art
  • Private visits to galleries and artist studios in Washington and New York
  • Opportunities for special access to international art fairs
  • Recognition in exhibition-related materials

In addition, members will receive the benefits of a Contributing Level membership:

  • Priority entrance to all special exhibitions
  • Invitations to two evening receptions featuring special exhibitions or the permanent collection
  • Invitations to family programs with breakfast and children's art activities
  • Private daytime lectures and previews of special exhibitions
  • Subscription to the Art for the Nation, a semiannual publication for National Gallery friends
  • Recognition in the National Gallery’s Annual Report and Art for the Nation
  • A 20% discount at National Gallery Shops
  • Subscription to the monthly Circle e-newsletter
  • Access to the National Gallery of Art Library

The total value of benefits made available is estimated to be $250 for Tower Project membership. The amount of your contribution that is deductible for federal income taxes is limited to the excess of the value of the contribution over the value of the benefits made available in return. Please note that this amount is subject to change.
