Want to learn about a current exhibition or specific work from the collection? Free Gallery Talks by museum educators, curators, and conservators are offered daily. 

To request a school tour for pre-K-12 students please visit our selection of school tours.

For groups of 15 or more people, please use this group tour request form to make a group appointment. We offer a Highlights tour of either the West Building (Early Italian to Early Modern) or East Building (Modern and Contemporary).

Guided Tours

Free tours explore highlights of the Gallery’s expansive permanent collection. Tours are available in English, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Español, Pусский, 中文, 日本語.

Accessible Tours

The National Gallery of Art offers accessible tours using verbal description for those who are blind or have low vision as well as tours in American Sign Language (ASL) for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

School Tours (K-12)

At the National Gallery of Art students and teachers are invited to explore works of art from the Renaissance to the present day. We invite teachers to request either a guided tour led by Gallery educators or a self-guided visit, which allows teachers to guide students through the museum independently.
