Biography

Louisa Macdonald was the mother of Earl Stanley Baldwin (1867-1947), three-time prime minister of England. Louisa was also one of three remarkable sisters: Alice (1837-1910), mother of Rudyard Kipling; Georgiana (1840-1920), wife of Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones; and Agnes (1843-1906), wife of Sir Edward John Poynter.
