Schilling, Edmund

Biography

Edmund Schilling was curator at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt until he was forced to leave Germany by the Nazis. He settled in London and for the next three decades divided his time between scholarship (e.g. the catalogue of the German drawings in the Royal Collection at Windsor) and his personal collecting.
