Overview: 76 works by 6 professional artists had been commissioned by Abbott Laboratories to document the wartime role of navy doctors in the treatment of sick and injured personnel. The collection of 100 paintings was given to the United States government as a permanent record of military medicine. Administrative work on the exhibition was handled by Associated American Artists, Inc. Record attendance for a single day was 25,023 on Sunday, September 10.
