Winslow Homer

Artist, American, 1836 - 1910

The image shows a person standing in a slightly leaning forward position with their head lowered, looking downwards. They have facial features that are somewhat shadowed, with a mustache visible. The person wears a cloth wrapping or turban around their head with long draping ends falling down their back. They are dressed in traditional clothing, which includes a loose, long-sleeved top and baggy trousers that taper at the ankles with wrappings over what appear to be boots or shoes. The background is plain and unadorned.
