This is a sculpture with five vertical segments that are wider at the top and slightly thinner at the bottom, stacked together in a staggered arrangement. The brown material used gives the appearance of aged, weathered wood. The material appears to have been divided into many small, irregular blocks that were then all stacked together to make the four segments, giving it an organic and rugged appearance. It stands on a flat gray rectangular base against a light-colored tiled wall.

Five Cones

Ursula von Rydingsvard · 1990-1992 · cedar and graphite ·  Accession ID  2011.154.1

This is a drawing of a hand. The drawing depicts an outlined image of a hand with fingers spread, made up of short, squiggly and seemingly random black lines. These lines create an abstract sketch of a hand with emphasis on the fingers, particularly through the thicker, denser lines at the fingertips. The background is blank. The overall style adds a sense of simplicity and abstraction to the drawing.
