Wandering Rocks

This free-standing sculpture is a three-footed, black metal arch with flat, faceted surfaces along its chunky legs. On the top half, three arms curve up and in to meet at the center. The arms are offset from the three legs and are connected by bands across the middle. The sculpture stands on a grassy park lawn and is nearly as tall as the mature trees behind it. Sunlight gleams on the matte surfaces so some look lighter gray and others are flat black.

A rust-brown, steel cube sits directly on a pale pink stone floor in a gallery. This photograph shows the cube from near one of the corners so two sides are visible. The surface of the steel is mottled with bronze and and dark brown, and is faintly streaked. The bottom edge of the cube seems to float slightly, creating the impression that hovers just above the floor. The room around the cube has flat marble panels to the left and a white wall to the right.
