Siblings (Brother and Sister) [Geschwister]

Erich Heckel, Fritz Voigt, Israel Ber Neumann · 1913 · woodcut on wove paper ·  Accession ID  1950.17.301

The image shows an artistic representation of a person from the waist up. The person is seated, slightly leaning forward with an arm bent, and a hand resting below the chin. The facial features are angular and stylized, with geometric shapes outlining the eyes, nose, and lips. The hair is dark and closely cropped. The figure is nude with simplified lines accentuating the body's form. In the background, a textured surface suggests a wall or curtain, rendered in a similar style as the individual. There are no visible accessories or objects held by the person.
