The image consists of swirling lines and shapes creating an abstract composition. In the center, red and pink hues form a design resembling a floral arrangement or abstract birds with dark, rounded eyes. Surrounding this central shape are arcs of yellow and blue. The overall effect is a tapestry of colors and forms suggestive of a garden landscape or carnival scene.

Dance in America / Mardi Gras

Keith Morrison, Robert Franklin, Brandywine Workshop and Archives · 1985 · color offset lithograph on wove paper ·  Accession ID  2023.22.35

The image displays a dynamic array of overlapping geometric shapes, primarily trapezoids, filled with a random pattern of splattered colors. In the larger composition, there are figures and forms which resemble humanoid figures and organic shapes interwoven in a harmonious manner. The left section has a lighter yellow background while the right section features deep blue and purple tones, with a green arc connecting the two halves. The abstract nature of the image suggests associations with figures in motion, clouds, or forms reminiscent of animals or mythical beings.
