The image shows Mont Saint-Michel against a stormy sky. The horizon is low in the scene, with the abbey featuring pointed spires. The etched lines create texture and depth. A monochromatic color palette of black and gray gives a somber feel. A boat and figures with horses are in the foreground, with sand and water stretching into the distance.
