The image depicts a thatched cottage dominating the right side of the picture. The horizon is obscured by the cottage and foliage in the background. There are no elements placed directly on the horizon line. The etching features delicate and detailed brushstrokes depicting the texture of the thatch and wooden walls. The color palette is monochromatic, with shades of brown and sepia. In the distance, a smaller building with multiple chimneys is partially visible, and a figure is on the path close to the viewer.
