The image depicts the upper half of a woman's body in a side profile. She is seated and appears to be reading a book. She has a fair complexion, delicately blushed cheeks, and a serene expression. Her hair is covered by a white headscarf, revealing some dark, shoulder-length hair. She is wearing a dark green dress with gold-patterned sleeves. She is not wearing visible jewelry and is holding what appears to be an illuminated manuscript. The background is plain off-white. The painting is framed in a gold-colored wooden frame with intricate detailing.
