Papagallo

Marisol · 1965 · color lithograph ·  Accession ID  1976.56.107

The image is an abstract composition featuring a central vertical figure made up of overlapping shapes in blue, pink, yellow, and green. Curved, flowing lines branch out horizontally from the center, creating forms that suggest wings or extended arms. The arrangement evokes the sense of a colorful, symmetrical insect or a piece of modern anatomy with centrally anchored forms reaching out into the surrounding space.

Marisol · 1965 · color lithograph ·  Accession ID  1976.56.108

The sculpture features a human face within a black-framed box. The face is intricately detailed, with a nose, lips, and eyes. It is made of a semi-transparent grayish material with hints of yellow and amber. The face emerges from the back of the box, creating a contrast between the translucent features and the solid frame.
