The image shows an abstract composition of geometric shapes, including a diamond shape at the center surrounded by intersecting lines. A symmetrical star-like pattern is integrated with arrow shapes pointing left and right. Warm yellow and brown circles and triangles contrast with darker cross-hatched textures. These shapes resemble eyes and ears. There is a central white rectangle and circular motif.

The image displays symmetrical geometric shapes and lines, including diamond shapes, concentric circles, and a central circular motif divided by intersecting lines. Broad black vertical bands frame the sides, while within the central vertical axis, symmetrical diamond configurations mimic the appearance of a stylized chain or path, creating an intricate and balanced design. On either side, diagonal, textured rectangles contribute to the layered and patterned look.

George Ortman, Tamarind Institute · 1966 · lithograph (stone) in black on German Etching paper ·  Accession ID  1984.34.481.3

The image displays bold, intersecting lines and geometric shapes forming a symmetrical composition with a diamond shape at its center. The artwork includes shapes resembling circles, crosses, and squares, resembling a stylized compass or a mechanical schematic. Textured areas on the outer sections resemble fabric or rough surfaces, contrasting with the sharp geometric forms. The repeated and intersecting elements create structured complexity within the abstract design.

Five

George Ortman, Tamarind Institute · 1966 · lithograph (zinc and stone) in three blues on German Etching paper ·  Accession ID  1984.34.496

The image features bold geometric shapes and lines, creating an abstract symmetry. At the center, a column of diamond shapes in dark brown extends vertically, flanked by circular elements with concentric circles. Above and below, large triangular forms suggest pointed arrows, while textured squares enclosing smaller squares with a cross inside are present. The overall design is framed by horizontal stripes at the top and bottom.

Oaxaca

George Ortman, Tamarind Institute · 1966 · lithograph (zinc and stone) in ochre, light yellow, light blue and brown on German Etching paper ·  Accession ID  1984.34.481.2

The image displays geometric shapes and lines, mainly squares, circles, and triangles, arranged in a grid-like pattern. The artwork features a red color palette with variations in tones creating contrasts among the shapes. At the top, there are magenta wavy lines contrasting against a row of round circles, while a diamond in the center with a cross resembles a typical road sign. To the right, an inverted triangle with a darker inner triangle might evoke the idea of an arrow or a funnel. Several smaller squares and rectangles are distributed throughout the artwork, with some containing textures that could remind one of fabric patterns or brick surfaces.
