    This is a painting of a scene at an old city gate with various characters engaged in different activities. The image depicts a group of figures in a historical setting with an archway, coats of arms, and a portcullis. To the left, there are people seated, holding meat and a drink. In the center, several figures are in conversation or confrontation, one holding a large cut of meat. To the right, a man is resting on the ground with a pot. The style is reminiscent of William Hogarth, known for moralistic and satirical themes. The image portrays a contrast between wealth and poverty with detailed characters and setting.
