    The image shows a portrait of a man's upper half, including his head and upper torso. The man is facing forward with his head slightly turned to the right. He has a distinct facial expression with arched eyebrows, a neatly groomed mustache and beard, and short, combed-back hair. He is wearing a dark doublet with intricate detailing on the front, a large, wide pleated ruff collar, and a decorative chain around his chest. His right hand is resting on the doublet. The background features a patterned circular frame, creating an oval vignette effect around the man's figure. Below the portrait, there is an inscription with the name of the individual: "The lively Portraicture of Sr Tobias Mathewes Knt. James Gammon sculp."
