This is a detailed painting of a dense forest scene with several fallen trees. The viewpoint is slightly elevated, looking down into the chaotic tangle of fallen tree trunks and branches. The bark of the trees is white and brown, with patches of green moss or lichen. The shredded interior of the wood is a light brown color with hints of reddish-brown in the shadows. The ground beneath the trees is light green.
