The image shows a man with a beard seated in a contemplative posture. He is depicted in ancient or classical attire and holds a cylindrical scroll in his left hand while his right hand is raised with an extended index finger. A lion is next to him, and there is a decorative architectural element behind him. An inscription is visible on a feature on the right side of the image. In the background, there are arched structures and a castle-like building.
