The image displays a portrait of a man seen from the waist up. The man is seated, facing slightly to the right. He has a solemn expression, deep-set eyes, a prominent nose, and a full beard and mustache. His light hair reaches down to his shoulders. He wears a large, dark hat, a garment with buttons down the front, and a ruffled white collar. The man also wears a bracelet on his right wrist. The chair he sits in has decorative buttons and detailing on the upper part of the backrest. The background is plain.
