The image shows a sprawling, twisted tree trunk dominating the scene. The viewpoint is slightly elevated, and the horizon is low. The tree trunk lies horizontally across the image with intricate linework. The style is detailed and precise, using an etching technique with hatchings and cross-hatchings. The image is monochromatic with black and white tones emphasizing shadows and highlights. In the distance, faint outlines of trees and a partially obscured structure can be seen.
