The image is a black and white photograph showing three young children standing on a cobblestone street. The two children at the front are shown from head to toe. The child in the middle is wearing a light-colored romper or one-piece outfit tied with a cloth around the neck, and has some dirt on the face. The child on the right has curly, disheveled hair, is wearing a darker jacket and dress, and appears to be holding the hand of an adult who is partially visible. This child also has dirt on the face. The third child, in the background on the left, has short dark hair, is dressed in dark clothing, and is standing slightly apart. The street is made of uneven cobblestones, and the background is slightly out of focus.
