Artwork history & notes

Provenance

Possibly the Ursuline Convent, Vienna.[1] (Dr. Rainer Jungbauer, Straubing, Germany); purchased 23 June 2006 by NGA.
[1] Dr. Jungbauer wrote to Alison Luchs (e-mail of 11 March 2008, in NGA curatorial files), that the sculpture is "said to come from the 'Ursulinen Convent' in Vienna" and that this was an abandoned monastery.
