Artist, German, c. 1485/1490 - 1553

This is a drawing of a knight on horseback confronting a dragon in a forest. The knight, in armor, raises his sword towards the dragon. The dragon is snarling and coiled in the foreground, surrounded by trees and rough terrain. In the background, there is a castle on a hill with smoke rising. The drawing features detailed cross-hatching and line work reminiscent of prints from the Renaissance period, with dramatic trees and cloudy skies creating a sense of movement and tension in the scene.
