This painting shows a boxing match scene with a knockout. One boxer is standing dominantly over the other, who is falling backwards. The crowd around the ring displays various expressions. Light and shadow emphasize the muscular forms of the fighters and the dynamic energy of the scene. The viewer can sense the suspense and intensity of the moment as the standing boxer looms large over the fallen opponent within the ring. The style is reminiscent of George Bellows, known for energetic depictions of urban life and physicality.
