Artist, American, born England, 1837 - 1926

The image is a pastoral landscape with a slightly elevated perspective. The horizon is low, showing an expansive sky with clouds. A line of trees spans the horizon, with a dense cluster on the right. The vegetation is detailed with fine brushstrokes, creating a realistic texture. The color palette is monochromatic in shades of gray. Closest to us, there is dense grass and a small body of water with water lilies. A path leads into the distance, where a person is walking, and cattle are grazing.
