The image shows a harbor scene with a slightly elevated perspective overlooking the water. The horizon with ships and industrial buildings is visible. The brushstrokes give the image an atmospheric quality. The color palette is monochrome with grays and blacks. Wooden docks and pilings are on the left with a figure standing on them. A small boat or barge is on the right. In the distance, ships with tall masts and structures are visible merging into the cloudy sky.
