The image shows a view from a slightly elevated position, revealing sloping terrain leading up to a prominent architectural structure atop a hill. The horizon is not clearly defined, with the focus on the hill and buildings perched high above. The brushstrokes are not visible in this print, but the shading creates smooth gradations and depth through contrasting light and shadows. The color palette is monochromatic, using various shades of gray to convey volume and light with strong contrasts. Near us are geometric buildings with flat roofs, beyond which the landscape rises into hills and a large structure resembling a church or castle, surrounded by tall, slender trees. The background features subtle suggestions of distant hills.
