Artist, American, 1839 - 1922

The image is an etching of a landscape. The perspective is slightly elevated. The horizon is high in the scene, with mountains in the distance. The mountains have soft contours. Closest to us, there is a field with vegetation and two walking figures. Beyond them, cattle graze in a field. A small structure, possibly a farmhouse, is seen nestled in the landscape. The color palette is monochromatic, using varying shades of brown and hints of sepia, accentuating the detailed line work.
