The image shows two people from the waist up. The person on the left is seated and is slightly turned toward the person on the right. They have delicate facial features and are adorned with curled hair, partially covered by a flowing cloth that drapes over the head like a veil. This person wears a garment with loose fabric draped over one shoulder, adorned with a patterned band on the upper arm. The person's breast is partially exposed. The individual on the right is leaning in closely, peering at a tablet that the left person holds. This person wears a soft, rounded hat with a brim and has curly hair peeking out from underneath, along with a high-necked tunic. There is an inkstand with a quill on a table in the foreground. The background features a wall with shelves filled with books and papers.
