Associated Names
The image shows an upper-body portrait of two young women. One is seated while the other is standing closely behind her, resting her arm on her shoulder. Both women have smooth, youthful faces and wear their hair styled with a middle part and pulled back. The seated woman has more defined facial features and wears a dark, long-sleeved dress with a white collar and cuffs. The standing woman also wears a dark dress with a fitted bodice. The image is set in a decorative frame, typical of daguerreotypes. The background behind the women is plain and muted.
