This is a photograph of a hand holding a cigarette through the bars of a cell door. The image captures a dimly lit scene where a hand protrudes from the left side at a barred door, delicately holding a cigarette between the fingers. The wall is divided with a lower dark area and an upper lighter area, which serves as a backdrop displaying complex shadows cast by the bars. The shadows stretch diagonally across the wall.
