Painter, French, 1841 - 1901

The painting depicts a sunset or sunrise over a landscape. The sun is partially visible on the horizon, casting a warm glow on the sky. The horizon is slightly above the center with softly painted clouds. Brushstrokes suggest a rustic style, especially in the clouds and haystack. The color palette is dominated by warm tones and muted greens. A dirt path, stone wall, wooden fence, hay stack, and a small red structure in the distance are also visible.
