Artist, American, 1869 - 1949

This is a drawing of a figure resembling Napoleon in a cemetery setting. The figure is standing among gravestones and trees, depicted in a traditional military outfit with a sword and medals. A speech bubble above him reads, "I SOLD IT BUT I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD GET INTO THE HANDS OF ANOTHER DICTATOR!" In his hand, he holds a sign that states, "LOUISIANA COMPLETELY UNDER DOMINATION OF HUEY LONG!" Words below the image read "SHADE OF NAPOLEON!" The style includes crosshatching and ink work reminiscent of political cartoons from early 20th-century newspapers.
