The image shows a desert landscape with a low angle viewpoint. The horizon is about a third from the top, dividing the sky from the arid ground. On the horizon are rocky formations with flat tops and gentle slopes. Several camels lie near the viewer with a few figures in traditional robes. The brushstrokes are soft and sketchy, giving a sense of immediacy. The colors include browns, grays, and soft reds for the land, and light blue for the sky.
