The image depicts a large, textured tree trunk with branches and foliage casting detailed shadows. The tree is on the left side of the image, against a light surface, possibly a wall. The horizon is a straight line where the wall meets the sky, a third up from the bottom. The sky has soft, billowy clouds. The scene is in black and white, emphasizing the contrast between light and shadow.
