The image features two individuals and a dog seated. The central figure is a man in a chair holding an artist's palette and brushes with curly hair under a wide-brimmed hat. Beside him is an intricately carved chair arm with a satyr face. Behind him, an older woman holds a mirror and a book. A dog stands next to the man. The setting includes an artist's workspace with a large canvas on an easel and a mug inscribed with "The laurel is for comic Art." The background is shaded with lines.
