Artist, French, 1644 - 1717

This image shows three studies of human figures on a textured brown paper background. At the top, there is a study of a male figure's torso, drawn in pencil. The figure is seen from the back, bent forward at the waist, with arms extending downwards, indicating muscle detail and curvature along the limbs. Below this figure, two head studies are rendered in red chalk. Both heads are depicted from a low viewpoint, looking upward. The head on the left shows a person with loose, flowing hair, lips slightly parted, and detailed facial contours. The head on the right presents an older individual with defined cheekbones, a more pronounced nose, and a textured hairstyle. The focus is on the expressions and the upward gaze of both figures. The background is plain with no additional objects or scenery visible.
