The image shows a man seated in an ornate, high-backed chair. His whole upper body, as well as his legs down to the knees, is visible. His left elbow rests on the arm of the chair, with his hand propping up his head. He has long hair and a full beard. He is wearing a light-colored shirt and darker, knee-length trousers and socks, with shoes that appear to be of the same shade. In his right hand, he holds a large, thick book, resting against his leg. Surrounding him are various objects, including weapons, armor elements, books, and scrolls placed on a table to his left. The background has a dark curtain partially pulled up and books stacked on the table.
