This painting depicts an abstract composition. The vertical rectangular canvas is painted with horizontal bands of black and gray in varying thicknesses. The lines are horizontal, resembling layers of sedimentary rock or grains of wood. The top and bottom of the painting are mostly black, with most of the gray stripes occurring around the center of the painting. The painting is hung on a background of light-gray stone tiles.
