This is a sketch showing a portrait of a man from the chest up. The man is positioned facing the viewer, with his head slightly tilted to the side. His facial features are characterized by a prominent mustache, a lined face, and thick eyebrows, and he has curly hair that frames his face. The clothing depicted in the sketch suggests the outline of a collared garment. There are no visible accessories or objects present in the image. The background is a plain beige or sepia tone. A signature reading "Whistler" is visible at the bottom right corner of the image.
