signed by artist, lower right in graphite: Heinecken 1982; by artist, lower center in graphite: 2/10; center printed in black ink: This pose may seem superficially similar to / Standard Pose # 2, variants # 2 and # 3, but / differs dramatically in the angle of the active / arm and the degree of gentleness involved / between the hand and the hair. In the first / pair the hand delicately touches the hair at / the back of the neck and the arm is held more / closely in toward the body. In the next two, / the subjects' hands cradle or caress the hair / softly. A variant is illustrated in the third pair / where the pose is held at that point in time / when the fingers seem to be approaching the / hair in anticipation.
