This is a sepia-toned photograph of a scene outside a wooden building. The photograph shows a group of people gathered near a pile of clothing on the ground. Within this pile also appear to be the lifeless bodies of several people. The wooden building in the background has an open door with a number, 23, on it. There are pieces of fabric or clothes scattered across the dirt ground among the bodies, with some sparse plants or low bushes on the left. In the background, some people on the left are standing and observing, while others are sorting through the materials on the ground, appearing to remove some clothing from the bodies.
