This is a photograph of a confrontation between Illinois National Guardsmen and demonstrators. It shows a group of soldiers facing a crowd of protesters. Some soldiers have "M.P." markings. One person is climbing a power pole and others are making "V" signs. Photographers are present, capturing the event with their cameras. The atmosphere is tense, with expressions of protest and authority visible. The scene seems to be at night, as indicated by the lighting.
