The image shows two people. One is seated, leaning on their left arm with a hand supporting their head. They have short, curly hair, a beard, wear draped robes that expose one shoulder and legs, and there are keys on the ground by their feet. The other person is standing, facing the seated individual with a speaking gesture, thick, curly hair, a full beard, and draped clothing. They hold a book in the crook of their right arm. The background includes a stone structure, foliage, and a distant landscape with trees and buildings. The artwork is monochrome with detailed linework throughout.
